How to Measure Windows for Custom Drapery & Shades Installation

| Measure window width – window frame to outside (A).
| Add 2″-8″ for panels to rest on either side of window frame when open.
| Add the extra inches needed for decorative finials.
| The total from the 3 measurements above is the amount of horizontal space needed for your drapery rod.
| If not using rings: measure from bottom of pole to floor (B).
| If using rings: add up to 2 1/2″ to the drapery length to determine the pole height.
| If not using rings: measure from bottom of pole to top of floor or top of window sill, depending on desired coverage (C).
| If using rings: add up to 2 1/2″ to the length, depending on desired coverage (D).
| Measure overall window width (A).
| To the number above, add another 2″-8″ to reduce light gaps as desired; this is the overall panel width needed.
Inside Mount
Outside Mount
| Inside Mount Width T, C, and B: Measure across the window casing from one inside edge to the other inside edge.
| Inside Mount Height, L, C, and R: Measure the inside area from the top inside edge down to the top of the sill.
| Outside Mount Width O: Measure from one end of the casing to the other then add a minimum of 3”, or 1-1/2” on each side for the headrail brackets.
| Outside Mount Height O-1: Measure from the top of the window sill up to the desired top of the blind.
| Outside Mount Height O-2: Measure from the floor up to the desired height above the window.
